THe Cambria & Indiana ho scale model railroad
The C&I HO Scale Model Railroad is in the early construction stages as of right now. The Railroad was located in Cambria & Indiana Counties in the western part of Pennsylvania. The C&I became a fallen flag in mid 1994 when Bethlehem Mine 33 shut down for good. I picked this railroad to model not only having family that worked at Beth Mine 33 but because it is a simple railroad. The version that is being model here goes from Mine 33 to Colver, Pa where the main shops, offices, engine house, and the Colver Mine was locared. As time permits photo's will be uploaded to the website. As of right now I am busy painting, lettering, numbering and testing all the equipment. Buidings are also being built and painted as time permits so that everything will be ready to go when the layout is started. The first section that will be built is Mine 33 to where the railroad crosses directly over old Rt 22 & new Rt. 22. A large yard was present at Mine 33 so that numerous empty hopper cars could sit there and wait to be loaded when the engines arrived from Colver or Revloc. The next yard was located outside of Nanty Glo, Pa and was called Eleanor Yard. The railroad will then crosses over expedite road on its way to Belsano via crossing over Rt422. Belsano is the location of the next yard. From here the railroad will do a reverse move to Colver, Pa where it will terminate.
